Our small lure packs and medium Bluewater pack can be pulled with TLD 25's. We are generally trolling the medium pack with 30's but the TLD25 is sufficient. We set our drag at 12lbs at strike and then bump up the drag to around 18lbs once the fish settle down.

This lure weighs in right at 14oz un-rigged. It can be trolled at high speeds, however it has a concave nose so its intended to swim on the surface and occasionally pop and expel a bubble trail. Too much speed without any weight will cause the lure to skip on the surface.

The concave face requires some line angle to keep the lure re-surfacing every few seconds as opposed to a slant face lure which can be run further back. If you don't have outriggers, simply run this lure straight to the rod tip in your spread and don't pin it down like a flat line.

However, a simple way to accomplish this is to make a mono loop end through the nose grommet, crimp, add egg sinker, then add your mini chugger of choice. We generally add 3-4 feet of mono then add another loop end to connect to your teaser line or back of a squid chain. Stay tuned for the video tutorial. We do sell this in a completed chain HERE.

Tail grommets are an additional grommet in the tail of the flap (same grommet that's in the nose). This is often used when rigging chains or multiple flaps in line with one another.
