Answer:

Most often the vivid squid chain is trolled as a teaser with some type of trailing lure, flap or dead bait (Spanish Mackerel.) However you could put a rigged bait behind this chain of your choosing and fish from a rod as opposed to a teaser reel. We do have people who rig the individual Vivid squids with an egg sinker and cable hookset to troll individually as a lure or green stick bait.

The single tier chandelier style dredges do not come with a bag in order to keep the cost as low as possible for our customers. We do offer a dredge storage bag for those that would like one, it can be found HERE.

Answer:

All of our Pre-Rigged No Tangle dredges come with SR30 squids. The SR30 is 9" in length.

Answer:

The weight needed for a dredge has several variables including speed and distance back in the spread. However, as a general rule, we recommend at least an 8lb lead fish weight for the triple tier dredges.

The answer depends on conditions and trolling speed, however a 4-6lbs (6lb being most common) coated dredge fish is the most popular choice for this dredge. If you are trolling faster or conditions are rough, it may require additional weight.

The SR squids do not have an exterior channel, however they do have a hollow interior that allows for rigging. They are often rigged individually for trolling / green stick baits.

Really depends on how fast you are going, however under normal trolling conditions the 4lb to 6lb fish weight would be sufficient to keep the 12x12 dredge subsurface.

Answer:

The SR20 squid is 7" in total length. This dredge is un-weighted in order to keep it as light as possible, however you would want to use a dredge weight to keep it sub surface.

Answer:

Great question: if your looking to use this dredge specifically for Mahi, I would recommend the Green. While Mahi will come to other dredge colors, we go back to the schooling mentality of a Mahi. They typically hunt and swim in schools, which is why people will often leave a dolphin on the line when chunking, it keeps the other dolphin close. Same with a Mahi colored dredge. Pink has always been a solid producer for us as well, as it mimics a natural squid color, a food of choice for dolphin and most other pelagics.

This teaser squid dredge is perfect for dead bait and light lure trolling speeds of 5-7knts. At this speed, a 6lb fish will keep it in the water, if your working with hand lines or smaller dredge gear, you could get away with a 4lb weight at the slower speeds.
