At what point should I use 32oz lead? Are these lures (large/medium)better suited w/ 16
Wahoo Pre-rigged Trolling Lure Pack
I have one of these packs on order (Last name: Pearsall) and one of your reps gave me a call to say that the 16oz were on back order which I completely understand (everyone one is dealing with this kind of stuff). I was offered the 24/32oz leads free of charge or I could wait on the 16's to come in and I opted to wait. I'm curious if that was right decision..? I know you can run heaver lures with lighter leads but we're just getting into high speed stuff and I was just looking for some advice.
Thanks in advance,
JB Pearsall

The amount of weight depends on a few variables. The simple answer is: the faster you are going, you need to either add more weight, or put the bait further back in the spread, often both. More speed, more weight needed to keep the baits in the water / from skipping. Also adjusting weights allow you to adjust the depth of the lure in the water column. Starting with 16 and 24oz's is a good baseline, then evaluate your needs from there. You can always carry extra weights and shock leaders to make changes on the fly.
